Domain Hosting
Domain hosting is an important part of getting your business online. You need a domain name for your website and personalised email addresses. You also need hosting to store your website files and keep your site available online.
The first step is to choose a domain name. This could be your company name, such as johnplumber.co.za. You may also find a shorter domain that matches the service you provide.
Once you have your domain, you need a hosting account. This gives you space for your website and email. Starcom also offers website hosting packages that can help you get your business online.
What is included with domain hosting?
Our domain hosting packages include space for your website and personalised email addresses. For example, you can use an address such as info@plumbers.co.za instead of a free email account.
You can create unlimited email addresses. However, the available storage depends on the hosting package you choose. Your website and email share the storage included with your account.
The packages also include several useful features. These include:
- Unlimited subdomains
- Unlimited MySQL databases
- SSL certificates
- cPanel access
- FTP accounts
- Webmail access
SSL helps protect your website and gives visitors a more secure connection. Meanwhile, cPanel provides an easy way to manage many parts of your hosting account.
Manage your email online
You can access your email through webmail from almost any device. Simply open the webmail login, enter your email address and password, and you can check your messages online.
This can be useful if you are away from your usual computer or your normal email device is unavailable.
Website hosting and website builder
Your hosting account provides space for your website. Starcom also offers a website builder for customers who want to create their own site.
The website builder is available with a domain and hosting sign-up. This gives you another option if you want to build a website without using a separate platform.
We also offer website design for businesses that prefer a professionally built website.
Affordable domain hosting
Starcom offers affordable hosting packages for businesses and individuals. We also run specials from time to time, giving you another way to keep your online costs under control.
Currently, a free .co.za domain is available when you purchase a domain hosting package for a year and choose annual payment at sign-up.
If you need a domain, website space and business email in one place, contact Starcom to discuss your hosting requirements.
Dont forget to protect yourself with a VPN , great for secure browsing and banking.
